Schon kurz nach Ende der Season 2024 war klar: Der neue Headcoach der Amberg Mad Bulldogs ist auch gleichzeitig der alte: Dany Emmanuel bleibt dem Team in seiner bisherigen Position erhalten.
Seit drei Jahren ist Emmanuel Headcoach der Amberger Footballer, seine größten Erfolge waren der Aufstieg in die Regionalliga und der Gewinn des Bavarian Bowls. Zwar lief es in der vergangenen Season nicht rund bei den Dawgs, doch aufgeben ist für Emmanuel keine Option. Er will nun das Team wieder zu alter Stärke zurückführen - und sogar noch besser machen.
Die Entscheidung, nichts an der Coachingspitze der Mad Bulldogs zu ändern, fiel der Abteilungsleitung nicht schwer - immerhin ist Emmanuel für die Dawgs weit mehr als nur der Chaftrainer. "Er ist das Herz und die Seele des American Footballs in Amberg. Dany kümmert sich um so viel mehr als `nur´ das Training. Seine Arbeit ist auch im Hintergrund so unglaublich wertvoll - und darum bin ich froh, ihn weiterhin bei uns zu haben.", so Michael Sandner, der Abteilungsleiter American Football.
Klar ist aber auch, dass der restliche Coachingstaff erheblich verändern wird, Sämtliche Positionen werden genau überprüft und werden wohl fast komplett neu besetzt werden. So hat zum Beispiel Philipp Ponader, der bisher als Coach und Spieler aktiv war, in die Abteilungsleitung gewechselt, auch der bisherige OC steht aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nicht mehr im gewohnten Umfang zur Verfügung. Dafür ist jetzt schon klar, dass Dominik McGuire künftig an der Sideline stehen wird und eine Defense-Position coachen wird - er war bisher ein besonders erfahrener Spieler und ein echte Stütze des Teams.
Die Gespräche mit neuen Coaches laufen auf Hochtouren und werden wohl in den kommenden Tagen zum Abschluss kommen.

It was clear shortly after the end of the 2024 season: the new head coach of the Amberg Mad Bulldogs is also the old one: Dany Emmanuel will remain with the team in his current position.
Emmanuel has been head coach of the Amberg footballers for three years, with his greatest successes being promotion to the regional league and winning the Bavarian Bowl. Although things did not go well for the Dawgs last season, giving up is not an option for Emmanuel. He now wants to lead the team back to its former strength - and make it even better.
The decision not to change the Mad Bulldogs' head coach was not a difficult one for the department management - after all, Emmanuel is far more than just the coach for the Dawgs. “He is the heart and soul of American football in Amberg. Dany takes care of so much more than 'just' the training. His work in the background is also so incredibly valuable - and that's why I'm glad to have him with us,” says Michael Sandner, Head of American Football.
However, it is also clear that the rest of the coaching staff will change considerably. All positions will be closely scrutinized and will probably be filled almost completely with new players. For example, Philipp Ponader, who was previously active as a coach and player, has switched to department management, and the previous OC is no longer available to the usual extent for health reasons. However, it is already clear that Dominik McGuire will be on the sideline in future and will coach a defensive position - he has been a particularly experienced player and a real pillar of the team.
Talks with new coaches are in full swing and will probably be finalized in the coming days.
